"The $25,000 Bet" -- I Must Be Crazy
So maybe I'm a little too confident. Maybe just
a tiny bit.....
Here's the deal, you are probably going to laugh
yourself silly. I was telling a friend of mine, Brent
Engelman, that I thought this book could really move.
I mean, everyone out there needs to know how
health clubs and gyms potentially manipulate people. I
opened my big mouth and said that I would not be
surprised if one million people (that's 1 with 6 zeroes)
ended up with a copy of this book a year from now.
"Ya wanna bet?"
Wow, I wasn't expecting that at all.
Brent said, "B, I'll give it to you, you're good but come on,
one million people. I think I want to put some money on that."
Now, knowing how he is (he's not much of a gambler), I figured
we were talking about 100 bucks or something.
"So how much do you want to bet, Brent?"
"How about something small, say $25,000?"
"Are you nuts?"
Brent responded, "Guy, I've always wanted to see what you can
REALLY do. I don't think you can do it, it's too much. Like I
said, you're good, probably the best, but I don't think you can do it.
The bet's 25 grand. One million people by May 5, 2007. What
do you say?"
(I'll tell you the significance of May 5th later on)
Well, after having someone stroke your ego like that a bit (the sign
of a master salesman), how could I say no. But, of course, I had to
put a few stipulations in the "bet".
1. The book can be given away by anyone. As long as someone
comes to the "Health Club Secrets" site and registers a book, it
counts.
2. I can "bribe" people if I need to. I can give away as many secrets
as I want in order to give away the book.
3. I can share the money (when I win) with whoever I want.
4. And finally, any claimed winnings have to be donated to the
charity of the other's choice in their name (I want the tax write-off,
ha, ha).
I haven't chosen my charity yet. I think I'll choose a charity involving
cancer research. Heck, everyone in my family seems to get cancer so
maybe I'll save my own neck.
I seriously need your help now. And....I'm willing to share my winnings
with one lucky person. I'll post the rules and regulations for you all
on Friday.
